HAIKU 2

Two little haiku to brighten, or darken, your day:

Twig after twig feeds the fire,
All the coldness of my room
Cannot resist.

Strange you did not touch me
Long ago
When cherry blossoms bloomed.
You seemed ugly to me then,
Black Rider,
And I raged against your honourable thrusts.
Rage was right.
And yet tonight
I give you without fuss
My hand.
I chose;
I've seen the sun on wild flowers.
I have ridden the white wind.

These poems are to be found in the novel "Matari" by Luke Rhinehart.
He also wrote the brilliant and hilarious novel "The Dice Man". His real name is George Cockcroft.
