Three little haiku to brighten, or darken, your day.
The moon's the same old moon, The flowers exactly as they were, My mind still goes on my mind. Yet see me glimmer on the pond And waver, yellow, in the wind.
A beautiful statue Of the hardest stone Stands stiffly In the garden. Beneath it A wild flower grows And dies Unseen.
The head and body dying, All falling snow. The opened eyes: Alive.
These poems are found in the novel "Matari", by Luke Rhinehart.
This is the author who also wrote the brilliant and hilarious "The Dice Man"!
